Where does ubuntu 11.4 store graphics card drivers?

following installing recommended graphics cards drivers i was told to be able to reboot.upon restart laptop computer failed to boot and the screen simply said unsupported training video type.So we removed this graphics greeting card and rebooted (MOBO includes small intergrated GC) plus it was ok although not powerfull enough to perform the unity pc.
so i need to learn where ubuntu could normally shop GC individuals so allow me to delete plus restart with the driver mp3.
unless another individual has a new suggestion in order to what the condition is
