Nvidia geforce2 question?
My friend just gave me a “WINDOWS ME” time computer.750 mhz ATI duron, etc,.The graphic card it was included with is a “TNT ONLY TWO VANTA 8meg” (it’s AGP.NOT NECESSARILY onboard) as well as something along those lines, the low end TNT2’s.They have a 250w PSU, and We were thinking about upgrading the actual Graphics unit card.I was contemplating the previous geforce2’s.The “higher end” geforce2’s”, like the PRO, ultra, and GTS.Now our question is which are the power requirements for all Will many people run for the 250w PSU This is the full length case if have to know. And will going originating from a low stop TNT2, to your Higher finish geforce2, be an excellent enough/big up grade I’m only visiting play aged games upon it, region know………
I do not remember GeForce2 being power starving, and certainly will perform better than the TNT in 3D-accelerated video games.
I wouldn’t spend more than $10, given that any new $30 PCIex card is light-years speedier. For baby stroller with outdated games, I’d choose a new Voodoo2 or maybe 3.Zero 3D speed, 16-bit colouring, but, many old games run much better with Float than DirectX / OpenGL.(It’s sometimes possible to apply both your GeForce2 plus Voodoo1)
If an individual pull out and about the TNT2 and also replace it using a GeForce2, you’re only going to be including 15 or perhaps 20 watts for the system.Put among the power monitors around the system and check if its about 200 watts right this moment – in the event that its not really, you’re great to replace it.
Personally…I would not waste my own money on a normal crappy procedure. For $200 it is possible to buy a new used technique with much better performance.
