Making a GIF for Tumblr?

I’d like to see to help to make gifs about GIFSoup.com but everytime MY SPOUSE AND I upload that gif to tumblr, it seems as if a regular jpeg snapshot.
Is there a way to fix this Like renaming the idea or something
I know you may get on web pages like TinyPic and find a link for it to job, but if one of my supporters saved the gif as well as tried to work with it, the item wouldn’t function again.
Am WE doing some thing wrong
