How to remove old Ubuntu Linux kernels after upgrade?

Not long ago i upgraded via Ubuntu 15.10 Maverick Meerkat to help Ubuntu ELEVEN.04 Natty Narwhal via the upgrade option in the 11.04 install disk.I forgot to clean up this old kernels associated with 10.TWELVE before WE upgraded and so after WE successfully put in 11.04 on the computer, that old Linux kernels associated with 10.10 continue to reside to the system.

I tried to make use of Synaptic Bundle Manager to clear out those previous kernels but apart from exist anymore because it now uses the 12.04’s databases.Currently the actual version requires the TWO.6.38_2-generic Linux headers.

I’m fearful to hack in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file because doing so might render my DESKTOP unusable because I have Windows 8 Starter, Windows XP Professional and Mandriva 2010 Spring installed in the machine.Any suggestions to clear out these aged Ubuntu Linux kernel entries
