Facebook and spam
The online interface of a slightly redesigned to Facebook caused a small controversy. Users reluctant to change expressed their discontent and several Facebook groups have formed to demand the return of the old interface.
Among these groups, the so-called “5000000 against the new version of Facebook” has had some success at the height of the “crisis” for a claim remained a dead letter. More than 1.5 million members‘s purpose has become very strange at the end.
Spam squatted the Facebook group
Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant of the publisher of security solutions, Sophos, has identified the strange conversion operated by this group which is now biased with spam.
“Facebook seems to keep its new interface, however, read on to understand how I won more than 130 000 dollars in three months …” says in the introduction to the description of the group. A very focused in these times of crisis and lower links lead to a site where the story of a Mack Michaels is counted as an incentive for enrollment in system promising easy money. In this Facebook group, in the links section, spam continues for other products.
It is not clear whether this group was the victim of a hacking or if from the beginning, its creation was to be used later to transmit spam. For Graham Cluley, there is no doubt that spammers are constantly looking for new “means of expression” that now offer their social networks.
