Computer constantly locking up/freezing. Even at idle.?

Relating to my custom built computer, which anytime will lock up.Possible be executing nothing in any way and check out do something plus it will shut.I have tried re formatting so it’s actually not a software program issue.I thought it would be the RAM MEMORY or hard disk but WHEN I still don’t have a sturdy idea.My personal specs will be as pursuing;
AMD AM3 Rana THREE.1GHZ
MSI AM3 750a SLI
Developed Digital 1 TB Sata II
Corsair DDR3 1333 Ram memory 2×4 GIGABITE sticks
Nvidia GTS 450
