Can I run two GTX 260s on a 550 W power supply?

I might buy a different GTX 260 so We can run additional clients on FoldingHome as well as GPU grid.

Minimum recomended PSU for just one card will be 450watts this can be inclusive coming from all components in a normal system your gtx 250 maximum utilization is 150watts thus 450+150 = ONE THOUSAND watts this is a bare minimum
Now dependant on what hardware you might have and what exactly peripheral devices you could have and but if your 550watt is a superb brand PSU their not fully impossible to jog it in that PSU
Model:I went two HI-DEF 4850’s on the 500watt PSU the recommended wattage from the manufacturer will be minimum 550watts still I for no reason had almost any issues.
But only you already know what hardware you’ve and what number of fans plus usb devices you have so you could try your PSU calculator
http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/ this gives you a reasonably accurate reading through of what maximum wattage your digestive system would employ with GTS 400 in sli

Update:More details I found
Requirements
Bare minimum 550 Watt intended for SLI method system.
(Minimum proposed power provide with +12 Volt recent rating with 30 Amps.)
An on the market 6 pin number PCI-E energy connector (hard commute power dongle to be able to PCI-E SOME pin adapter incorporated with card)

NO you simply can’t.With the energy consumption in the computer, plus the two GX260’s, you would need to be with 750-800 W to become within a new safe energy range.

Wish this offers helped.:)
