Can someone help me with my internal hard drive?

i just now got the following new disc drive, and i endeavor to install glass windows xp however it keeps telling me “setup failed to find any hard drive drives installed within your computer” can certainly someone say to me the way to fix the following

your hdd may have jumpers.be sure its using a master bus.also reach f2 or perhaps esc about bios and examine if your hard drive is found in bios.ifnot look at diffrent cables likely to ur hard disk drive.also attempt messing using the boot choices in bios
