Problem in Windows 7-Not detecting my memory card?

MY PARTNER AND I inserted our Micro SD minute card but Windows 7 will not recognise this.The new it said something such as “Windows wil automatically locate drives” nonetheless i disregarded it.And now after i insert this card any sound equates but within Computer you don’t have drive.
In XP there seems to be a target SD drive when i inserted the item.Please aid me.
