Would 1mbps internet speed good for online gaming!?

my goal is to use that for downloads in addition to online video gaming like gta SOME! can it play even with 1mbps web speed relating to recently found a bed that is faster however it has some sort of bandwidth capacity!

i simply get JUST ONE.7mb right now with sky and thus far the right way to not too damaging online gaming when using the ps3, although it would be better for downloading any time i’m around the pc
